LAILATUL-ISRA WAL-MIRAJ, THIS SATURDAY THE 16TH MAY 2015

Posted on: 12 May 2015

Alhaj Salieu Njie's photo.

Note: In Islam the day starts just after Magrib prayers the day before.

LAILATUL ISRA-MIRAJ: The Prophet's night journey.
That night is one of the most miraculous events in Islam. Salallahu Alaihi Wasalaam together with the angel Jibril mounted on Al-Buraq and flew above the heavens. What followed was, Rasoul med and saw Allah "in a manner that befits Allah's Majesty".

The following was the Divine Conversation which we also recite in Tashahud in prayers:

Salallahu Alaihi Wasalaam greted Allah Subhanahu Wtaala:

"At tahiyyātu lillāhi, was-salawātu wat-tayyibātu"

Subhanahu Wataala Replied

"As-salāmu alayka ayyu han-nabiyyu wa rahmatullāhi wa barakātuh. As salāmu alaynā wa 'alā ibādillā his-sālihīn."

The Mala'ikas who witnessed this meeting responded:

"Ash-hadu al lā ilāha illallāhu wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan abaduhū wa rasūluh"

Translation:
All worships are for Allah.
Allah's peace be upon you, O Prophet, and His mercy and blessings. Peace be on us and on all righteous servants of Allah.
I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger.

The above conversation is aclear proof that Rasoul has indeed met and converse with Allah Subhanahu Wataala, Allah confirms this in the Quran:

Exalted is He who took His Servant by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al-Aqsa, whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing.
—Quran, Chapter 17 (Al-Isra) verse 1

And he certainly saw him in another descent,
At the Lote-tree of the Utmost Boundary –
Near it is the Garden of Refuge –
When there covered the Lote Tree that which covered [it]
The sight [of the Prophet] did not swerve, nor did it transgress [its limit].
He certainly saw of the greatest signs of his Lord.
—Quran, Chapter 53 (An-Najm), verses 13–18

Recommended is to remember that great incident on that blessed night, make Nafil prayers, Zikar and read the Qur'an.

Remeber our beloved Prophet Salallahu Alaihi Wasalaam in your duas.

Keep the peace
